Firstly I thought these are wedding favors, then found out that they are actually engagement sweets!!! In mainland China, we normally just give wedding sweets to the guests after the wedding (kind of like wedding favors in Western countries, but we give sweets only, not other stuff), but I didn’t know people also give sweets after their engagement in Tai Wan. Well, engagement used to be a big event for families in ancient China. However, after all those revolutions, the traditions have been forgotten, nowadays you can get married even without an engagement. Tai Wan is a special place, it remains more Chinese traditions than mainland China sometimes; on the other hand, it can be extremely Western as well. So let’s have a look these Western styled Chinese Engagement Sweets!

Love this Romantic House wedding sweets, if I have chance to go to Tai Wan one day, I have to get this big house!!! http://www.king.com.tw/pro2.php

So, what colour will be our wedding theme? Of course the pink!
The soft, pale and ballet pink, maybe with a combination of French lace. I used to do a test on Facebook once. It was a kind of test that you enter your birthday and the result of the most suitable job for you will come out. My result was “A Natural Dreamer and Dancer“, hahaha! I’m not quite sure about the dancer part, but the dreamer is certainly true.
So are you ready everyone? You will see lots of pink dreams in this blog……

On the 2nd; of March I asked my beautiful girlfriend to marry me, and I am delighted to say that she has agreed. We are planning on getting married in summer 2011, and this blog will hopefully keep track of our thoughts, ideas and plans over the next year and a half.
